I have a 10 month old yorkie-poo ( yorkie and poodle mix ) and she still chews on everything pillows, my little brother’s stuffed animals, and other toys. But when we get her a stuffed toy she seems to stop chewing on our things because she seems to know whats hers, the only problem is she chews through them in such a short time its almost not worth it. Any suggestions?

Ok, so I just got my dog a new favorite chew toy, it’s a tire meant for dogs (it’s not big like a real tire, about 6″ or 7″ in diameter). I stuffed it with dog food, then sealed it in with peanut butter, then put more dog food on the peanut butter (kinda like sprinkles on frosting) and froze it. Well my dogs loves it, but he is just a puppy (a 3 month old newfie/saint mix) and I don’t want him to get too much fat from this (I used about 3 or 4 tablespoons to seal it so the kibble wouldn’t fall out of the tire, that’s too much peanut butter to use on a regular basis). What else can I use to seal in the dog food that won’t be as fatty and will be ok for him to have about 3-4 table spoons a day off?
Also, we got a buster cube and he just doesn’t seem that into it yet, any ideas on how to get him more interested?

So I have a 7 week old Great Dane and he is good for the most part, but is going through the biting stage. I realize that I took him from the litter a couple weeks early and am planning on taking him to puppy classes soon. My question is I have a 6 year old golden retriever and my Dane chews and nips him like hes a toy constantly! I have been letting him do this so my golden can sometimes snap at him and let him know he bites too hard and I want him to be comfortable playing with dogs. Am I encouraging bad behavior? I don’t think I could stop him if I tried, he loves playing with him and my golden doesnt mind much…usually just walks away. Should I stop it when they start to play rough or let them go? I kind of rely on my golden to show the pup some good habits.

I gave her a new rubber toy with a squeaker, and she loves it. The only thing is she cries the entire time she plays with it. Could it be that the squeaker is hurting her ears? She’s had toys before with squeakers, and she’s always cried when she’s played with them.

I ask this because I bought my dog a couple of chew toys…not to keep him from chewing on our stuff, but as a present. He loves them and although, he doesn’t chew on any of my kids toys he is always holding on to and chewing these toys. The tag only says that is made of polyester threads but I think that there must be something that attracts him to these chew toys. Thoughts??

I bought it for her and she is not interested maybe because of the taste but I mean, dogs chew those. What can I do? I made it smaller by cutting it in half, and she is a small chihuahua so what can I do? If there is no hope, then oh well $4 loss, no big deal

I’ve tried Kong, those toys made from real tires, the nylon toys…..EVERYTHING! They all get decimated within half an hour. What can I get for my dog that will last more than a day?
BTW, she is a 10lb miniature schnauzer. Ropes last a little longer, but they die quick as well.

Nifty beaded and appliqu‚d illustrations distinguish Sklansky’s (the ZOOMfun series) collection of 26 canine poems. Playful pups and precocious mutts (and frisky felines who make frequent cameos), rendered entirely in colorful, shiny beadwork, cavort across canvas spreads, highlighting different doggy endeavors.
