My dog is fixed and a girl yet she likes to occasionally hump some of her toys, especially this stuffed dog toy. But that truly disturbing part is when she humps a cat toy… so ashamed. What’s up with this?

He stands beside the bed and watches as i get in under the covers… then he leaves the room, comes back with some toy or his bone…puts it beside me … then climbs into bed to sleep. I offer to play with him or hold his bone as he chews.. but he will just push it back to me with his nose … and sleep.. he does it every night before sleeping .. and i just wonder why does he do it … any ideas ????

I volunteer at the shelter 2-3 days per week, and I’ve made it my goal to take some of the more hyper, exciteable dogs out to the play yard and let them have some “free-running” time. This helps them learn to socialize with humans, and it also helps them burn off the excess energy that gets built up living in such close quarters.
The problem is, when we get out to the yard, we have no toys for them to play with. I don’t mean the expensive kind of dog toys. I mean, we don’t even have tennis balls to throw for them. NOTHING. The shelter is so over-wrought, all the funding and donations go for the basics… food, water, medical care, staffing… there’s no $$ for “extras” like toys.
I need some ideas for getting toys donated, or at a great discount, so the dogs can at least have something to fetch. Right now, all they have are rocks! I need names of charities to contact, even those philanthropists who give small sums to charities. Anything you can think of. Thanks!

im looking for a really good electronic dog. a fake dog that acts like a real dog. my son wants a puppy but we cant get one right now because we live in an apt.

Did I purchase the wrong “Hide A Squirrel” dog toy? My shepherd is around 36 pounds, 7 months and she’s able to get it out awfully quick. The first day I gave it to her, she bit the squirrel by the head and pulled it out in less than 10 seconds each. I purchased her a Jumbo because she’s going to grow some more. But I thought it would take awhile because she has to “work” to get the squirrels out. However, she’s getting them out really quick, I’m starting to think I should’ve gotten a large???

We bought a Kong today, and to try it out we just put the little treat that came with the toy inside of it.

My seven months old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel chews just about anything! Yesterday he chewed an extension cord,but thank God he didn’t bite through the copper wire. He has also tore a tire bone,a phone charger (wasn’t in wall),and earphones. He’s started to try going under the computer desk. He chewed a huge hole through his blanket and his bed. We are extremely worried about him. Does anyone know of a dog toy that’s tough and safe if he tears a piece off and swallows it?

My mom bought it for my daughter last Christmas from I’m sure some kind dollar store or novelty store. It’s a black and white dog with a red button you push on it’s back that lights up and makes the dog bark and “walk” by rolling on it’s wheels. It also has four different colored small buttons on it’s side in different shapes and each plays a different animal sound. THIS IS MY DAUGHTERS’ FAVORITE TOY AND IT BROKE BEYOND REPAIR. I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO FIND ANOTHER ONE. There was no brand as like I said it was a generic toy. Let me know if anyone knows where I can find this. THANK YOU!

My chihuahua had a pink plastic bone that squeaked when you squeezed it. It had little nubs all over it and was that type of toy that is plastic and hollow, so its semi-flexible. She has had this toy since she was little and now another dog has torn it apart. She doesn’t really respond to any other types of toys, so I was hoping to find one that is similar to it. Has anybody seen anything similar to this or know where I can find one? Please don’t give me general suggestions like Petsmart or Petco. I have already checked those stores and haven’t seen anything like it. Thanks so much!
